Manual Handling Awareness
The theory of safer manual handling for cafés, restaurants and hotels: the law in plain words, how injuries happen, avoid, assess and reduce, safer lifting and team lifts, trolleys, café loads and posture at the bar. 8 short lessons with quick checks, then a 20-question quiz and a certificate of completion. This is an awareness (theory) course: it supports, but does not replace, your employer’s risk assessment and practical, task-specific training at work.

Made for your next job

Good to know
Does this meet my employer’s manual handling training duty?
Not on its own. The Health and Safety Authority says manual handling training has to include practical, task-specific training at work. This course gives you the theory beforehand, so you get more out of that training. Your certificate says “Awareness (theory)”.
How long do I have to finish?
There’s no time limit. Your progress is saved on the device you use, so you can stop and pick up where you left off.
What if I don’t pass the quiz?
You’ll see which lessons to look at again, and you can retake the quiz as many times as you need.
Can an employer check my certificate?
Yes. Every certificate has its own ID. Anyone can check it at baristaschoolireland.ie/verify, which shows the course, your name as printed and the date. Never your email.
Do I need any equipment?
No. Just a phone, tablet or computer.
Can I get a refund?
Yes: 14-day refund.* *Terms apply.
Do I get a certificate?
