Our story

Better baristas, better coffee

Barista School Ireland was established in 2016 because hospitality needed structured, professional training. Since then we’ve trained thousands of students, and specialty coffee has been our focus from the start.

Why we exist

Training that holds up on a busy Saturday

Our trainers have years of experience training, competing, managing and consulting in hospitality, always with specialty coffee at the centre. We’ve seen what works behind a bar and, just as importantly, what doesn’t.

So every course is built the same way: a clear foundation in theory, then as much time on commercial machines as we can give you, in small groups where a trainer can watch every shot and every pour. You finish with an assessment, a certificate, and four weeks of support so the learning keeps going once you’re back at your own machine.

Since 2016 we’ve trained thousands of students, from complete beginners to café teams. Today the school is in Bandon, Co. Cork, on Pearse Street.

How we teach

Three things we don’t compromise on

Small groups
6

No more than six per class, so you get real time on the machine and a trainer at your shoulder.

Real equipment
Pro

You learn on commercial espresso machines and grinders, the same kit you’ll find in a café.

After the course
4weeks

Email support once you’re home, so questions at your own machine get a proper answer.
